Climate Change and the Future of Workers
The labour market and the future of workers in the agriculture, food and tourism sectors are being directly affected and affected by climate change.
Two key sources of income for rural areas – agriculture and tourism – sometimes clash over or compete for natural resources. The probability of lower production in some EU regions, alterations in seasonal patterns and possibly higher costs for farmers as a result of climate change will all have knock-on effects for the food and drink industry.
